Die-cutting is a process used to cut paper into a specific shape using a steel cutting die. It can be used to punch out a decorative shape or pattern to incorporate within a larger piece, or it can be used to create the main shape of an object by cutting the entire sheet of paper in a distinct/designed way. For example, if you wanted your business card to be shaped like a cupcake or a clothing tag. This would be accomplished using die cutting. We offer three kinds of die cutting on our paper cards: die cut corners, simple shape, and complex shape. Die cut corners apply only if the affect you are looking for is rounded corners. The radius of the corners can be customized as part of the die cut corners feature. Simple shape applies to designs that are unique shapes but that is still fairly standard. For example, the following shapes would be considered simple die cut: circle, hexagon, or rounded on one side. Examples of complex die cuts would be a camera shape, a cupcake, anything with jagged edges, or any designs that have cut outs.
